The Conversation: Letting Go

The Conversation: Letting Go. A note from Teresa Biggs

Excerpt from “She Let Go” by Safire Rose: “She didn’t analyze whether she should let go. She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter. She didn’t utter one word. She just let go. No one was around when it happened. There was no applause or congratulations. No one thanked her or praised her. No one noticed a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.”

The season’s are a direct demonstration of life. Spring is birth/rebirth; summer is growth; fall is harvest/letting go; winter is death/hibernation. When we plant a seed, we do not immediately eat the fruit. Nature reminds us that life is cyclical and each part of the cycle is important. Without hibernation, there can be no rebirth. Without birth, there can be no harvest. Since we are in the season of Fall, let us take this time to slow down & honor in our life where we are being called to harvest & let go.

We can use our yoga practice to create the space to go within & examine the different areas of our lives. What people/places/things are no longer nourishing or supporting our energy? Where/What can we let go to create space for new beginnings? What has run it’s course in our lives, that is ready to be released?

What needs to be let go of will be unique to you and your life journey. There is no right or wrong or should or shouldn’t. It is up to you to do the work to determine where you are being served and where you are not.

Letting Go is part of the cycle of life. No one will know or notice. No one will congratulate you. So stop resisting and be like the tree’s in autumn & just let go.
